Due to great interest, the application deadline for the International Competition “Constantine the Great” is extended until February 29, 2020!

The unique International Internet Competition “Constantine the Great” opens the possibility of participation to pupils, students and artists from all over the world. It is held in cycles of one year each in order to develop, affirm young artists and strengthen international cultural relations. Within the competition there are 19 disciplines in the field of art, music and applied arts: Chamber music, Wind instruments, World music, Guitar, Piano, String instruments, Solo singing, Complementary piano, Accordion, Percussion, Vocal ensembles, Music theory, Composition and Arrangement , History, Drawing, Graphics, Graphic Design, Photography, Painting.

The competition is fully realized via the Internet and in accordance with the Rules of the competition. Depending on the category, the competitors send the application form for participation, taken from the website of the Competition, with the accompanying documentation, to the scheduled e-mail by February 29, 2020, by which time the application deadline has been extended. Each contestant submits a link in the application form to a certain number of videos or works in accordance with the category for which they are applying or an online test is being conducted in certain categories. The jury evaluates the candidates through videos, works or test results and makes decisions about the winners. All winners receive diplomas, and within each discipline, a special award is determined called the Laureate of the discipline. The gala concert and exhibition at which the laureates of the Competition perform are organized as part of the celebration of the Glory of the City of Nis – Holy Emperor Constantine and Empress Jelena from June 1 to 3, every year.

Competition conceived in this way enables the presence of competitors, without a large financial investment and removal of the geographical barrier. The jury of the Constantine the Great competition consists of eminent artists from all over the world, which is a confirmation that art speaks the same language.

The organizers of the International Competition Constantine the Great are the Faculty of Arts in Nis, the University of Nis and the City of Nis with the support of the Student Cultural Center, the Gallery of Contemporary Fine Arts and the Association of Music Theorists of Serbia.
